We'd decided that as it was still wet, we didn't fancy packing away wet tents and camping gear, and would rather wait a day, rest and relax, maybe take a drive after lunch, then move on the next day.
Into Quorn looking for bits and pieces, a very picturesque little town. The facade's above the shops were painted with periodic signs and advertising. I eventually found a shop for our parts, that sold camping equipment. Having walked through the town I found it interesting, while looking at a town map hung sideways in a window, the store attendant popped his head out. While asking him where I could buy camping equipment, Warren walked past behind him holding a tarpaulin. So I figured this was the right place. Bought some guy ropes and a beannie for Kat. She gave it to me and took mine later.
We had a few trips to the store, and also a drive into the Flinders, but a few roads were closed so we couldn't change our campsite like we'd planned. Very interesting hills, mountains and other formations and some crossings to wash off some salt and sand.
Back to Quorn to fuel up, some more campsite fiddling, then over the the "Austral" hotel for a meal. A very cool photo near the dining area of the pub with four utes out the front including one with a dual headlight statesman front end that belonged to the owner. Great food, nice and warm.
Back to camp to try and get warm around the fire but the wood was green and we didn't have much luck.
Depending on the road closures our plans are now to spend a day, possibly two, camping in the Flinders, head to Leigh Creek to restock, then head to Cowards Springs. Depending on road closures we then head to either Mount Dare or Birdsville and attempt to cross the desert.
