We didn't have much of a sleep in but were feeling very refreshed, especially Katrina who I think really needed a rest to refresh.
We had some rain overnight, occasional showers, not enough to worry those in swags, but enough to wake them and make me think that a night in a cabin was a good idea.
Early breakfast and departure, though not quick enough to leave when Warren did. The lady at reception asked "Happy Wife?" "Yes!"
As we didn't have far to go, and catching up was futile, we stopped at a few places to check the view. We caught them at the view of "London Bridge". Very spectacular with the big seas breaking through the arches in the rocks. A bit cold and blustery though. As we walked back to the car, the wind blew the foam from the sea far below, over the top of us and into the car park. In snow like fashion the bubbles of foam rained down, also similar to ash floating down.
In and out of a few other interesting views, including the most extreme boat ramp I have ever seen, before driving in with Warren to Warnambool to fuel up and grab some crocs and ponchos from BCF.
Next stop was Mount Gambier, via the scenic route. It took a little longer, not so scenic though. The eucalyptus plantations and others were interesting. Some poor baby ducks running on the road and some emus by the side of the road.
At Mount Gambier we visitied the Blue Lake. We drove around and looked down from the lookouts in a few places before it was time to head to Beachport where Warren's mate Brad was waiting.
We managed to lose Warren fairly quickly as he was keen to go, so we went to Harvey Norman for a new GoPro battery and larger memory card before heading off.
I was trying to use the phone to pick up a few geocaches to waste some time as Charlie was asleep again, but it was quite frustrating. Though we came to a memorial type sign and pulled up. A memorial to drainage works, however it was interesting and we eventually found the cache.
Into Beachport we took the scenic drive along the beach. Fishing boats on long moorings and a very long jetty.
We setup the tent while it was drizzling, which fortunately cleared, then busted some more "D" rings out of the tarp I wanted to use as rain insurance.
Apparently the shops were shut so we had to use one of our "desert meals" for dinner. Chick, honey sauce and Shanghai noodles. Only used half the chicken so will finish it off tomorrow.
The frozen, pre-cooked meals were thawing a bit so we turned up the fridge a bit.
Some drinks by the fire, then time for bed.
