Day 13 - Dalhousie

Day thirteen, that explains a lot...

We had rain in the early hours of the morning, so I got up to check that everything was away, and put the chairs in our front "awning" area.

After this it was wind and flies, the rain was dry before we got up. I re-positioned the vehicle to try and give the tent a little protection from the wind, but it didn't help much.

Despite Warren saying previously that it would be up to everyone how long we stayed at Dalhousie, today when we asked him about it, his response was that he was staying, and we could do what we liked. We weren't too impressed with that, but after a little talking with Katrina, we decided that we'd wait an extra day here then do the trip as planned, as we could hardly go on ahead alone, and we didn't want to turn back.

Dalhousie isn't very appealing to me. The springs are too hot, there's no shelter from the wind, and we get wind and flies, or no wind and mosquitoes. The wind has us worried about the tent. We'd rather be moving on but our hands are tied.

Jack and Chloe are enjoying swimming in the springs, but they are getting dehydrated and are squabbling, which is less than pleasant, I think they're also getting bored.

Brad cooked a communal dinner tonight, spaghetti bolognese, it was excellent.

Charles is a little out of sorts tonight, mossies got to him last night, he's covered in bites. It turned out that one of the zippers at the back of the tent wasn't properly closed.

A bit of a discussion with Brad and Warren about accommodation in Birdsville then it was time for bed.
