Dubbo 5th July 2025 Lizzie's birthday and retirement party

We left home around 8:30 to drive to Dubbo via Goulburn, where we filled up, then Crookwell, on the way getting stuck in a line of 26 cars behind a horse float. Then Binda and Tuena, where we stopped for hot chocolate. Leaving Tuena we got stuck behind a slow moving Dodge RAM, the driver of which kept slowing down to wave at baby goats. We ended up overtaking them over double lines as they were going so slow and we had good visibility ahead.

Trunkey Creek, Barry (no photo this time), Orange, Molong, then Dubbo via Yeoval, which was slightly quicker and a more interesting and windy road than the Mitchell Highway.

We stayed at the Abel Tasman, on the edge of town. The inn was good. The manager told me he had issues where people would book but use credit cards that didn't work. Apparently it's common for people to book multiple locations then drive past.

Lizzie's party was at Lauretta's house. We didn't know anyone other than Lauretta, Peter and Lizzie. Lizzie's daughter, Laura, looks very similar to Shannen.

We had a good time and spent a lot of time talking to them. Lauretta and Lizzie are very much like the Perrys and we enjoyed their company.
